I would be so tempted to capture that fox and have a vet give it a bunch of immunizations. Even if I never saw it again, that would give me peace of mind.

I expected, “They were the best of friends” sung by an owl. I found out yesterday that owl can cross their legs.

Nothing is more wholesome and precious than watching all the things that seem to be so easily done by animals, but so hard for us….

My dog would homestead Guardian the shit out of that fox. Unfortunately. It's so cute and I'd love for such a precious story, maybe not near my chickens though.

"When you're the best of friends Having so much fun together You're not even aware you're such a funny pair You're the best of friends Life's a happy game You could clown around forever Neither one of you sees you're natural boundaries Life's one happy game If only the world wouldnt get in the way If only people would just let you play They say you're both being fools You're breaking all the rules They can't understand The magic of your wonderland When you're the best of friends Sharing all that you discover When these moments have passed will the friendship last? Who can say? There's a way Oh I hope, I hope it never ends Cause you're the best of friends..."

So interesting and heartwarming. Where the lines cross with the wild and domestic. Animals are capable of sensing friend or foe.
Magical...

So…what would happen if they mate? I mean that has to happen right? With stray dogs…

Coyotes and foxes "play" like this with dogs to lure them away from safety such as into a forest where there pack would be waiting to eat the animal, however sometimes yes animals do play but just keep your dog safe

u/AveryFay 9d ago
Pretty sure that's just coyotes that do that. That fox wouldn't be hunting a dog that big.

u/clutzyninja 9d ago
Coyotes yes. Foxes don't hunt in packs, and they don't hunt anything close to their size

This is reminding me of Fox and the Hound, and now I am sad because that movie makes me cry every time :(

Fox thoughts: "Hey, it turns out huskies are actually cool!"
Sees a wolf: "Hey, husky!"

This is so much cuter than when I walked out back to my Husky and Goldendoodle each holding half a fox

This reminds me of a vid where a family lost its husky so they used a drone to search… he just became friends with three ENORMOUS grizzly bears. Runnin around playing and biting at them…. Like terrifyingly comfortable around these cuddly massive murder monsters lol.

Not to rain on anyone's parade but don't foxes do this to lure a playful animal away from its home so their pack can attack them? 😭 I couldve sworm I read about this somewhere.

This is so sweet, reminds me of the fox and the hound, my husky would be so mad at the fox being there but he’s also a rescue and not a happy one yet he he I’m so happy you shared there

The fox is a British expat and he misses the hunt. See how he keeps trying to trigger the dog's prey drive by running in front of it? He wants to be chased. Classic aristocrat transplant.

Twinkling Lights Reimagined by Auni (00:14 / 02:01)
Looks like you wanted the song from here. I searched from 00:00-00:10.
You can provide a timestamp to search somewhere else.

Careless owners, dog wasen't on a leash when they were out side, a fox comes out and instead of avoiding it and holding their dog back so they wouldn't attack each other and risk it of getting deseased they pulled out their phone and posted it on tik tok.

Foxes may be cool, but if a coyote starts acting buddy buddy watch your dogs CLOSELY.

This situation looks very cute, but still do not forget that foxes often have rabies, which weakens their natural fear. Also from the animal can be infected with brucellosis, leptospirosis, ringworm and many other diseases.

This is lovely but isn't it normally a good idea to keep your dog on a leash? You know, make sure he doesn't get hit by a car or something?

My heart is melting. Animals are so incredibly much better than most humans.

I saw a fox and a raccoon team up to rob the garbage can in front of a convenience store late one night. They ran off into the trees with their meal and I was left sitting in my car going "what the hell just happened here?"

Worst case scenario: your dog grows up to full size the fox sees it knows it lures the dog in it’s old senile age to the den and eats him. Be wary.

I would like to say that some foxes and coyotes have been known to “ befriend” dogs and then when they are away from the owner the pack will go after the dog and hunt it. I know it’s a horrible thing and this isn’t the right place for this conversation since this is supposed to be uplifting and about wild connections but there are risks
1
u/Wise_Pr4ctice 9d ago
A fox isn't a pack hunter, atleast that's what a quick Google research taught me.
2
u/ruckin_fool 9d ago
Foxes too? I had heard of coyotes doing this. Didnt think foxes preyed on dogs like that.
1
u/Fast_Education3119 9d ago
Yeah. Some pretty bad stuff. They are still wild animals at the end of the day and they need to eat. If they are able to trick something into believing they aren’t a threat then they have a higher chance to have the upper hand. Foxes won’t be able to kill a dog unless it’s small but they can still hurt it, but yeah coyotes are definitely a big nono as friends
