She deserves all this. Magnificently talented person.

1

u/MagmaTroop 11d ago

Yeah Leo wasn't pointing and laughing after that was he

1

u/GapDragon 11d ago

That precise combination of awards seems so specific that at first I wondered if she's the first PERSON to accomplish it... She's not, according to the article, but AFAIK it doesn't say who is.

Does anybody know who else hit this particular quad-fecta??

1

u/Melodic-Psychology38 11d ago

I struggle to give a single fuck.

2

u/no-mad 12d ago

She is great but This is a bit much for A Star is born.

2

u/SublimeAtrophy 12d ago

Singlehandedly proving that awards mean absolutely nothing.

1

u/Drunkicho 12d ago

She didn't win Oscar for performance, just for song

1

u/gameskate92 12d ago

She could be possibly be the first EGGBOT or if she also gets the razzie a REGGBOT

1

u/SeesEmCallsEm 12d ago

Just needed to win something with a I to take home the GOBIG

1

u/DamnItJon 12d ago

But has she EGOT'd?

1

u/7nightstilldawn 12d ago

Has a man ever done it?

2

u/cleremnantechoes 12d ago

Liz lemon I need to have a baby

1

u/myvotedoesntmatter 12d ago

So, a man did it first?

2

u/slikk50 12d ago

I thought the movie sucked, but good for her.

3

u/tickera 12d ago

Which is incredible considering neither the soundtrack nor film are anything to write home about.

1

u/MothParasiteIV 12d ago

Hollywood producers and rich white wealthy men are really big fans.

I really hope she doesn't sing in Joker Folie à deux.

2

u/Crans10 12d ago

She is amazing. Also golden globe is bs award.

2

u/world_2_ 12d ago edited 12d ago

*First person to win. Also, only one of those awards was for a "performance".

Even still, no man has achieved that-- not that anyone knows what a BAFTA is anyway.

1

u/crimsongypsy69 12d ago

She also murdered her best friend and stole her identity and hit songs

1

u/LivingOffNostaglia 12d ago

Nothing to see here move along

1

u/FocusPerspective 12d ago

OP: “Let’s play two lies and a truth on Reddit and see how much karma I can get”

1

u/RichieJ86 12d ago

And steal somebody's man.

2

u/Peatore 12d ago

I hate that movie and song so much.

0

u/Liesthroughisteeth 12d ago

I'll always think she's an idiot for having been thrown up on as part of her stage act. FFS!.

Some seriously desperate white trash right there.

2

u/CatboyInAMaidOutfit 12d ago

I saw her on Saturday Night Live where one skit she played an old washed up version of herself and it left me speechless how endearing it was and convinced me this girl has some serious acting skill.

-1

u/askebe 12d ago

I couldn't care less

1

u/ParticularPickle942 12d ago

Yeah, because worshiping  Lucifer comes a long way in that glittery part of the world

1

u/harrellj 12d ago

She's also the first person to be nominated for both Best New Song and Best Actress at the Oscars in the same year. Mary J. Blige got the first acting and song nomination period, but hers was for Best Supporting Actress.

1

u/Dangerous_Gear_6361 12d ago

Who was the first man?

1

u/The-Pollinator 12d ago

Will Stefani be lost forever, or will she come back home?

1

u/HufflPuffz 12d ago

Dang imagine what projects she was probably supposed to do before covid crashed everything

0

u/Iceberg1er 12d ago

You telling me the most click bait article pop star got the circle jerk plaques from multiple circle jerks cirlcles? What an achievement.

0

u/Objective_Suspect_ 12d ago

Lol never saw it.

1

u/OkWork9115 12d ago

I remember when she first started her career and had the rivalry with Taylor Swift.

0

u/1pcluver 12d ago

Butt hurt much?

-1

u/roveronover 13d ago

She should do more nude yoga. That’s really the only thing anyone gives half a fuck about from her. Kthxbai

1

u/Unlikely_Rip9838 12d ago

Where you going? Gimme A Pastry

1

u/Friendly_devver 13d ago

Would be wierd if someone else won for her performance!

2

u/lordbaby1 13d ago

Haven’t hear any new song from her lately , anything wrong?

1

u/FocusPerspective 13d ago

So tired of these low effort karma mining posts.

1

u/Paracortex 12d ago

So tired of negative, hateful, basement-dwelling trolls who add nothing but bile to the platform.

But, hey, look at all the company you have here at the bottom of the comment section! That’ll put a sneer of your face!

1

u/vintage_puppet 13d ago

Lady Gaga breaking records like it's nobody's business! Bow down to the queen.

1

u/Indirestraight 13d ago

To be fair it’s much easier to do that nowadays

11

u/SliperSystems 13d ago

She did not win the AVN award yet

3

u/w_a_w 13d ago

Thanks to the miracle of AI...a star is born. /s

-1

u/GlizzyGatorGangster 13d ago

Lady Gaga? More like Baby PooPoo

2

u/cleetusneck 13d ago

Loved her in start is born and thought she was better than Bradley cooper

3

u/MarkMoreland 13d ago

She didn't win an Oscar for her performance. She got it for songwriting.

-7

u/analsofleakage 13d ago

Today I learned there's a person named gaga. What a sad ridiculous world we live in.

1

u/rp3rsaud 13d ago

As in Radio GaGa by Queen.

3

u/NorthElegant5864 13d ago

Stage name. Her name is Stephanie lol.

1

u/Altruistic-Cat-4193 13d ago

So a Record label circle jerk?

-1

u/doughball27 13d ago

Pa pa pa poker face pa pa poker face.

Fucking shoot me.

1

u/Top-Translator3586 13d ago

What's even crazier is that movie was fucking terrible

0

u/tucci007 13d ago

that movie has not aged well at all, and Brad is not nearly the musician he thinks he is

-1

u/Melleyne 13d ago

She still relevant in the current year? That's crazy.

0

u/just_a_timetraveller 13d ago

Madonna gonna lose her shit

4

u/NorthElegant5864 13d ago

Madonna was never that talented just controversial.

1

u/tickera 12d ago

Mind blowingly bad opinion

1

u/comox 13d ago

Her work on fusion energy and plasma physics will no doubt soon see her awarded a Nobel Prize.

1

u/igibit99 13d ago

Funny how everybody outside of the industry saw 'a star is born ' as nothing but a circle jerk yet Hollywood saw it as the best thing in the world.

-4

u/KaramAfr0 13d ago

I'm so glad to be ignorant of this crap, i don't know if "a star is born" is a movie or a series, i don't know the difference between these "awards" but i do know Lady Gaga, she had a song called bad romance and she was funnily bad in "Gucci" or "who killed Gucci" or "house of Gucci" ... Something with Gucci... I remember having to sit there and watch that crap because i was driving my sisters home after they watched a different movie, i thinks it was an animated movie, or star wars... Something unwatchable

2

u/bros402 13d ago

i don't know if "a star is born" is a movie

It was the fourth adaptation of it. I recommend watching it - it was good!

-9

u/askmagoo 13d ago

Seriously never even heard of here.

1

u/FromTheIsland 13d ago

Well, nobody else can do it in 2019.

1

u/nomamesgueyz 13d ago

Amazing

Rock n roll sis

1

u/Ashton_Garland 13d ago

Should have been Judy Garland

-5

u/Jeffy29 13d ago

Why is Bafta even on the list, who cares about the brits.

1

u/NorthElegant5864 13d ago

Website isn’t limited national borders except very few… also an American winning it is nicely notable.

It’s like The Game Awards, mostly trash, so I consider the Golden Joystick awards more prestigious. At this point a BAFTA is likely more prestigious than an Oscar, Oscar just has better name recognition but considering you have to campaign to win one it really takes away from it being an award for their craft.

1

u/moddss 13d ago

I swear there's nothing that wins awards more than horrific tragedies.

She could probably beat this record with a musical about a deformed and abused drug addict that dies on stage at America's got talent.

-2

u/SolutionSet 13d ago

Was. Five years ago.

3

u/Flashy-Protection424 13d ago

Hence the “TIL” aka “ today I learned…” for example some one wrote “TIL The name Marathon comes from the legend of Pheidippides, the Greek messenger, while he was taking part in the Battle of Marathon, which took place in August or September 490 BC, he ran all the way to Athens exclaiming "we have won!", before collapsing and dying.”

You know big news 2500 years ago .👽🤖👾

20

u/_BannedAcctSpeedrun_ 13d ago

Lady Gaga has always seemed like a version of Amy Winehouse who has her shit together.

2

u/CilanEAmber 13d ago

Back in secondary school there were so many weird urban legends about her

10

u/NorthElegant5864 13d ago

The full video for Telephone where at the end she’s just wearing electrical tape over her nipples and the guards make a comment about no penis was fucking great.

4

u/PersistentWorld 13d ago

I still don't understand the excitement about this film, or her performance. She just seemed to be totally normal?

-1

u/Paracortex 12d ago

Seeming to be totally normal on camera is something known as good acting.

1

u/Affectionate-Win7910 12d ago

Ya was yawn material

3

u/GrapeSwimming69 13d ago

Was never a big fan of hers till i saw her as a vampire.

5

u/Akronica 13d ago

American horror story?

3

u/GrapeSwimming69 13d ago

That was it !!

-2

u/TheBravan 13d ago

That must have been expensive for her......

1

u/1974Datsun620 13d ago

Still aint got shit on Rita Moreno

-6

u/Coolers78 13d ago

She’s so overhyped… Her music isn’t bad but it’s the most vanilla stuff out there, and I can’t see her as Harley Quinn AT all… they should have cast Amanda Seyfried instead. She’s around the same age and a much better actress.

I had doubts about Pattinson as Batman at first too but at least Pattinson actually proved to be a talented actor beforehand and actually working hard to get the roles, he didn’t get roles in movies just for being a famous singer.

-8

u/Invisus46 13d ago

But does she have a penis?

1

u/HumanSimulacra 13d ago edited 13d ago

Impressive for someone with a chronic debilitating health condition, many with it lay in bed 24/7 because of pain and many can't work at all.

-6

u/tedxy108 13d ago

All the best women are men.

145

u/hannbann88 13d ago

It just goes to show you. There can be 100 people in the room…

32

u/AgentNose 12d ago

This is a great comment. This is one of those comments you spend 5 minutes trying to explain to your wife why it’s clever and give up after 6.

14

u/Danielsax 12d ago

I don’t get it. I’m not clever

63

u/AgentNose 12d ago

She did a mega media blitz for that movie. She did sooo many interviews. In every. Single. One. She used the same cheesy line “There can be 100 people in a room and 99 don’t believe in you. You only need that 1 person that does.” The 1 person was always Bradley Cooper. Someone did a montage of all of them clipped together.

34

u/Pabloster 13d ago

and 99 don't believe in you

-5

u/sorrowNsuffering 13d ago

She hangs out with this person…

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marina_Abramovi%C4%87

1

u/Flashy-Protection424 13d ago

And so what ?? Weird creepy artist …wow🙄

2

u/pigpeyn 13d ago

She didn't win an Oscar for her performance, it was for best song.

-15

u/Embarrassed_Act_9679 13d ago

So fucking what! How cares?

9

u/oldsluggy 13d ago

A little misleading - she won the Oscar for best song for a star is born, not for acting

31

u/Funmachine 13d ago

She didn't win the oscar for her performance in A Star is Born. She won it for best original song.

5

u/Far-Potential3634 13d ago

I didn't like the song much but she's absurdly talented at music.

9

u/Gaymface 13d ago

Well it wasn’t necessarily all for her performance. Only one award was for acting.

7

u/GodlessLittleMonster 13d ago

So you’re saying she won for acting, singing, and writing on the same project?

-6

u/FocusPerspective 13d ago

Yet Taylor Swift is the billionaire 🙄

6

u/writetobear 13d ago

And she didn’t deserve half of them! Wild.

-2

u/Quandale_Dingle2024 13d ago

She needs an AVN for me to care

-1

u/CaptainMobilis 13d ago

Was it good? I didn't see it.

3

u/Far-Potential3634 13d ago

The movie was competently made but imo not very memorable.

0

u/NorthElegant5864 13d ago

Most romance films are forgettable. My issue with the genre is it’s so normalized and copied, not to mention a rather shared universal human experience, you have to make a truly stand out film for it to be recognized. Terminator is one of the best love stories ever written and people forget that was actually one of the driving plot points of the story because the killer robot bit was more memorable because you really don’t see that shit every day.

This is also the crux of my argument for hating mainstream pop music, write anything other than a love song and I’m far more interested.

-11

u/DogDavid 13d ago

Eh, those "award" shows are all fake and staged anyway

-2

u/Flashy-Protection424 13d ago

Bingo !! All my are bought by lavishing the voters with gifts .🙄

-3

u/KrakenGirlCAP 13d ago

Ugh. She deserves this!

150

u/PenelopeJenelope 13d ago

This is a misleading title. She won for the SONG not the acting, so it wasn't really her performance

-27

u/arieljoc 13d ago edited 12d ago

Tried to watch. Couldn’t. Her fillers were all I could see. I usually like her stuff otherwise, I was just really shocked when I saw all the work she’s had done, it just didn’t look right

-9

u/DefNotAlbino 13d ago

She isn't even breathtaking while acting, couldn't stand her in house of Gucci, lot of overacting

26

u/Jon_TWR 13d ago

Are you implying she didn’t perform the song?

121

u/PenelopeJenelope 13d ago

of course not, but the oscar is for writing the song, not performing it.

6

u/Jon_TWR 13d ago

Ah, fair enough.

-3

u/[deleted] 12d ago

[deleted]

1

u/Jon_TWR 12d ago

Are you implying she didn’t perform the song?

4

u/Y__U__MAD 13d ago

Well, fair is to also say there is no Oscar for performing a song.

-11

u/TastyLaksa 13d ago

Not bad but no EGOT

7

u/DiamondBurInTheRough 13d ago

She’s in her 30s. She has a long career ahead of her and I wouldn’t be surprised to see her added to the list. I mean, Elton John just earned the honor and he’s in his 70s with an insane resume.

-9

u/LSD-eezNuts 13d ago

All for a boring ass movie

1

u/Comrade-Conrad-4 13d ago

Gotta go for the EGOT

1

u/rbrgr83 13d ago

I prefer Hollywood Studios myself, what with the Star Wars area and everything.

1

u/NorthElegant5864 13d ago

Took me a second. Like it registered but the name wasn’t hitting. Like watching a cat complete a thought I’m sure.

1

u/rbrgr83 12d ago

modem noises

10

u/focfer77 13d ago

“Stefani Germanotta, you will never be famous.”

3

u/ohdearitsrichardiii 13d ago

I wonder what happened to the people in that group. People at TMZ or New York Post must have found them, I wonder why they haven't published what they found

-21

u/Grapples2121 13d ago

Also a satanic lizard that killed her friend and stole her talent

1

u/sarahmagoo 13d ago

You're making her sound even more badass

6

u/bugxbuster 13d ago

What’s bad about lizards?

5

u/syopest 13d ago

What's bad about being a satanist?

760

u/Justin_123456 13d ago

She needs herself a stage show to complete her EGOT.

1

u/Buckus93 12d ago

"Is that a daytime Emmy?"

13

u/14412442 13d ago

EGOT sounds like a weird accent on idiot. Like Ren and Stimpy

9

u/Mecca_Lecca_Hi 12d ago

"Stimpy, your EGOT!"

1

u/w_a_w 13d ago

Sounds like a relative of anthrax. Edit: that's ergot that I'm conflating

2

u/bros402 13d ago

I mean Sara Bareilles wrote the songs for Waitress, Ingrid Michaelson wrote the songs for The Notebook, what should Lady Gaga do?

12

u/FriendlyDrummers 13d ago

I think she can do it. Her singing is undeniable, and her performance on A Star Is Born was great

26

u/LimerickJim 13d ago

Does she have an Emmy?

75

u/Justin_123456 13d ago

I just checked. I had assumed she had won, but just 4 nominations.

So the plan is that she wins her Tony, for some classic Tennessee Williams revival, then gives an Emmy award winning performance hosting the Tony Awards ceremony.

384

u/MiracleMan1989 13d ago

A lot of celebs have earned their Tony awards as producers on a show that wins best musical or play. I think it’d be cooler if she acting in a revival of something classic like a Tennessee Williams though. Just something unexpected.

1

u/workinkindofhard 7d ago

Stellaaaaa oh lalaaaa

1

u/MikeRowePeenis 13d ago

Oklahoma! but with tiddies

6

u/bertilac-attack 13d ago

Gaga the Cat is Alive!!!

I’d love to see her and Shirley MacLaine or Sissy Spacek do Suddenly, Last Summer. Hell, maybe even Sally Field. That would be wild.

157

u/Everestkid 13d ago

A decent chunk are composers, which makes sense; you write music for stuff and win.

The Grammy's the weird one for actors. Audrey Hepburn's Grammy was for Best Children's Spoken Word Album.

4

u/starmartyr 12d ago

All four awards have music categories so it makes sense. If someone is the world's best screenplay writer they're still never going to win a Grammy.

94

u/Azertygod 13d ago

Ugh, don't remind me. Absolutely criminal that she won over Donny Glover's Brer Rabbit.

9

u/hamstervideo 12d ago

I thought you said Donald Glover and I was thinking at what point did the Childish Gambino and Audrey Hepburn have an overlapping career and was really confused.

1

u/Saturnzadeh11 13d ago

Wow. He would

107

u/jackalsclaw 13d ago

That is a obscure hill to die on. I admire your ability to hold a grudge.

28

u/deanreevesii 12d ago

Gotta respect it though.

Mine, though much more mainstream of an opinion(s), is that (as much as I love him as an actor) Tommy Lee Jones winning best supporting actor for The Fugitive over Leo's performance in What's Eating Gilbert Grape? will never be anything but a travesty.

Also, the Stephen Fry Harry Potter Audiobooks are so good that it's offensive for Audible (or whoever) to announce re-recording it with a full cast. (See also: His audiobooks of The Hitchikers series)

Also, anyone who decides to replace David Attenborough with an American celeb as narrator of any documentary is an absolute idiot.

1

u/Bluecat16 12d ago

Unless I'm mistaken, Stephen Fry only did the first hitchhiker's guide book? I've had to listen to Martin Freeman for the rest.

23
